MyPinDown Privacy Notice

This notice describes the current MyPinDown application’s handling of links, results, and downloads.

Links you submit

The server receives the Pinterest URL and media type you submit, then requests public Pinterest metadata to find available files. You do not need a MyPinDown account, and the service does not ask for your Pinterest password.

Media transfers

When you choose Download, the server requests the source file from Pinterest’s media servers and streams it to your device. The application does not write the media to disk or keep a media library. Your browser may cache previews or save files as part of its normal operation.

Temporary results in your tab

The result page uses sessionStorage to keep source links, media links, titles, dimensions, media type, and a creation time in your browser tab. These details allow the result to survive a refresh. The application treats results as expired after 30 minutes and removes expired entries when it loads or creates results. Closing the tab normally clears its session storage, although browser session restoration can affect this behavior. Media bytes are not stored in sessionStorage.

Connection information and operational logs

Network requests expose connection information such as an IP address to the receiving service. The application keeps per-IP request counts temporarily in server memory for rate limiting and clears the counts approximately every minute. Connection failures may log an error code. The application does not maintain a download-history database. Hosting providers and network infrastructure may have their own access logs and retention settings.

External services

Pinterest receives requests needed to retrieve public metadata and media. Your browser also requests preview images and videos directly from Pinterest’s media servers. The current stylesheet loads DM Sans from Google Fonts, which receives the corresponding browser requests. Following an external help link opens that provider’s service, governed by its own practices.

Analytics and your choices

The current application does not include an analytics or advertising tracker. You can clear this site’s browser storage or close the result tab to remove temporary details. Blocking site storage prevents result-page handoff from working. Only submit links you are comfortable having processed by the service.

Language preferences and IP country lookup

The server uses the connection IP to look up a country in a local database for language selection. It does not send your IP to a geolocation service. Temporary IP-based rate counts are cleared about every minute. Infrastructure may keep access logs. A language cookie remembers your choice for one year; you can clear it in browser settings.
